LOVE IS A BREEZE TO BLESSINGS.
Wah lau yeah...... I was ill-advised about the name of the song used for the new line dance named Love Is A Breeze. I found out this morning from a student of mine who said that the actual name of the song is 'zhu fu'( blessings ) and the name of the Taiwanese singer is Wan Sa Lang.
The step sheet is now renamed BLESSINGS after the song. Those of you who have downloaded the earlier step sheet can now download the corrected new script. So sorry for the inconvenience.

MY TEACHER ONCE SAID....
Lesson from the past:
My teacher once taught us not to look down upon or talk bad about our own race lest it will reflect on ourselves.
A scene in the present:
A Chinese woman and her English friend were watching a group of Chinese teenagers break dancing by the roadside. After a while, the Chinese woman remarked "Stupid Chinese. Rubbish." Then she saw the English man flashed a giant smile across his face to which she asked "What are you smiling at?" The man replied " Aren't you a Chinese?"
Pondering......Hmmmmmm, how true!

NEW RELEASE_Jit Lang Jit Pua
Newly choreographed by yours truly, JIT LANG JIT PUA can be loosely translated to mean "half for you and half for me". This is a Hokkien song which was very popular some time ago. The song was sent to me by Molly Kong of Tawau, Sabah who requested me to choreograph a line dance to it. Thanks, Molly - I like the song after listening to it and the rest was easy. Unfortunately, the phrasing of the song requires a section B which is 72 counts long. Sorry about that - guess you all have to make full use of your memory to remember it ( good exercise for your brain-lah ). To make it easier on your brain, I used a lot of repetitions. As for the sequence of the dance, you don't have to worry because the song will tell you what to do!!!
Learn and enjoy the dance. Happy dancing from me.

TWINKLES
Jennifer wrote:
I do have a question!
Some stepsheets say RIGHT TWINKLE starts with your RF, but some say start with your LF towards the right....
So which is which? Would appreciate any help out there :-)
Tigger answered:
Right, first things first .. the Twinkle is a Ballroom term and thats where the similarity ends.
The Twinkle is performed only by the Lady whereas withing line Dance there is no division. Also within Ballroom the count is six, whereas in Line dance its only three.
If you take the last three counts of the Ballroom Twinkle you have a 'close' affinity to the Linedance version... but only close.
In answer to you question: In BOTH cases you can lead with either the right or left foot. In most cases within Linedance (all within Ballroom) the lead foot crosses OVER the trailing foot.
Simply put - within Ballroom the body is facing the diagonal when performing the count - straightening with the second - and facing (opposite) diagonal with the third (dependent on following combination). Whereas within Linedance - anything goes.
These corruptions of Ballroom terms spread to the very basic Mambo step and other. The Bosa Nova is NOT a dance anywhere except in Linedancing... and they cant even get the rhythmn or tempo right for that.
I know a heck of a lot of people don’t really mind (or even care) about such things - but a large number of Linedancers bemoan that they are not taken seriously by other genre's or the media... one wonders why
Leo Boomen responded:
I think, in order to avoid the confusion, we should write out step sheets in the following ways:
1) Twinkle to the right on left-right-left
2) Twinkle to the left on right-left-right
Any better suggestion?
Tigger agreed:
I agree Leo...
... now all one has to do is try and 'educate' a few thousand Instructors/Choreographers. I dont separate the two as the vast majority of Instructors are also Choreographers - though I strongly suspect they were Instructors first.
and BM Leong advised:
So you choreographers out there, please take note.

SHINE ON
Choreographed by Francien Sittrop ( Oct. 2008 )
64 counts, 4 walls, easy intermediate level
Music: Shine On by R.I.O.
Just released last week by Francien Sittrop, Shine On is a newly choreographed line dance by her for the month of October, 2008. This dance is a 64 counts, 4 walls, easy intermediate line dance choreographed to the song of the same name by RIO. The tempo is fast and you have no time to do certain moves correctly. There should be a restart during the first wall after 62 counts if you want to dance it perfectly to the music. In the step sheet, no restart was inserted and those of you who are used to restarts and tags will feel a 'little funny' after the first wall.

旧欢如梦 : I learned this dance many years ago. This is one of those dances which was passed around from "mouths to ears". Choreographed by who? Only God will know! Maybe after reading this, the choreographer will come forward to claim ownership. Lucky, I can still recall the steps from memory and have put it down in black and white for you to learn and dance.

KING OF THE WILD FRONTIER
REVIEW: KING OF THE WILD FRONTIER is a 32 counts, 4 walls beginner line dance choreographed by Denise Jackson to the old favorite ballad named Ballad Of Davy Crockett by The Kentucky Headhunters. I have inserted 2 restarts to make the dance fit perfectly to the song. The first restart is during wall 3 facing 6.00 wall after 12 counts and the second restart is during wall 8 also facing the 6.00 wall after 8 counts.
LISTEN TO YOUR SENSES
REVIEW: Choreographed by Stefaan Cools in March this year, LISTEN TO YOUR SENSES is danced to the song of the same name sung by Alan Jackson. It is a 64 counts, 4 walls easy intermediate line dance with simple moves and very easy to learn.

WALK RIGHT IN
REVIEW: WALK RIGHT IN was choreograpahed by Peth Colida and released in April this year. It is a 32 counts, 4 walls beginner line dance with 2 tags at the end of walls 2 and 6 both facing the 6.00 wall. Choreographed to the song of the same name by Dr. Hook, it is easy to learn and dance. The step-hitch-turn at the end of the dance reminds me of the Red Indian war dance in old cowboy films.
STOP RIGHT NOW
Review: Choreographed by Peter & Alison to the song named STOP by the Spice Girls, this is a 32 counts, 4 walls, beginner line dance. Released last month, the step sheet can be downloaded at the Copperknob and Yipee websites. The moves are smooth and easy to learn. There is only one turn in the 4th section of the dance and a RESTART during the 9th wall facing 12.00 The song was a popular hit in its time.

NEW RELEASE - Rumandawi
RUMANDAWI
Choreographed by Silia
64 counts, 4 walls, easy intermediate level
Music: Rumandawi Edited by Clarice John Matha
This is a new Sumazau line dance requiring a lot of bouncing movements of the body and arms. The unique style of Sumazau dancing requires both arms to be out to the respective sides at shoulder level and with the elbows slightly bent. They should move slightly up and down like the flapping of a bird's wings. In sections 3 and 8 of the dance, this styling should be used.
Happy Dancing, BM
Note: To download the step sheet and music, you should know where to go to!
